Monroe Wisdom

Monroe is a member of the Litigation Department where he commenced his legal practice with the firm in 2013 after graduating from the Norman Manley Law School. Monroe’s experience covers a broad range of civil and commercial litigation matters where his focus areas include insurance litigation, personal injury/negligence, shipping and maritime law and landlord and tenant disputes. Monroe’s hard work and attention to detail quickly ranked him as a cutting edge lawyer which led to his swift elevation to Partnership in 2021.

Monroe has an extensive advocacy experience through alternative dispute resolution and trial matters in the Parish Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal. Monroe continues to grow his practice by finding innovative ways to incorporate technology in the management of his files. Monroe’s mediation/arbitration practice is directive and outcome-focused. He specializes in reopening what have otherwise been unsuccessful negotiations with a fresh perspective. Monroe services represented and self-represented litigants alike, and he believes that resolutions can be made without needing to attend Court, even in high-conflict situations.

Away from the office, Monroe is a football enthusiast and has a love for theology and theatre. Monroe is a devout member of the New Testament Church of God in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. He also participates in and coordinates numerous faith based youth activities such as SHOUT Congress, National Summer Camps, and the Mannings Hill Road Community Football Programme.

Monroe is a member of the Jamaican Bar Association and is a regular presenter and guest speaker at local events.
